The Gaplan Comprehensive Assessment of Intelligence, 3rd Edition is a comprehensive test of intelligence that may be taken in three forms: the quick form, which consists of two subtests and takes roughly 30 minutes, the abbreviated form, which consists of four subtests and takes roughly 45 minutes, and the complete form, which consists of eight subtests and takes roughly 75 minutes. As may be expected, the quick form is the least accurate, followed by the abbreviated form, and the complete form is the most accurate. To better show your cognitive strengths and weaknesses, in addition to a Full Scale IQ score, the test produces index scores, although to receive all index scores you must take the complete form.

The GCAI-3 was designed to be the successor of a GNAI-II, a matrix reasoning intelligence test that was relatively inaccurate due to it having only one subtest as well as producing lower scores for those who are weak on matrix reasoning (or higher scores for those strong). If you have taken the GNAI-II, you have already completed one of the subtests of the GCAI-3, and you may take GCAI-3 subtests to produce a more accurate score.

Note: if you are not a native English speaker, you should take the GNAI-3 instead. Translating the questions will not produce accurate results as difficulty of concepts may differ between the languages. Even if you believe you are skilled at English, do not attempt the GCAI-3 unless you are sure you have an English ability equivalent to that of a native speaker, as the test will be very biased otherwise, considering it was normed on native English speakers.
