Form GP-400: Become an Ambassador or Consul Member

Please read the following before you begin your application.

  • Please understand Gapla, its territory, and its mission and vision before you apply. Our national website provides this information.

  • You must be a Gaplan citizen to become an ambassador or consul member. Apply for Gaplan citizenship and receive approval as a Gaplan citizen before submitting this application, if you are not already a Gaplan citizen. Failure to do so will result in the automatic denial of your application. This form is currently available to those without eGapla IDs due to the current mass recruitment of ambassadors and consul members.

  • Not all regions qualify for embassy or consulate placement. If your region is eligible, you will be notified upon approval. If your application is denied due to ineligibility, you will automatically be placed on a waitlist and considered if the region becomes eligible in the future (e.g., when the local Gaplan population grows). Do not email us requesting to be placed on the waitlist or submit further applications. Exceptionally qualified applicants may be appointed as ambassadors-at-large, representing broader geographic areas.

  • Becoming an ambassador or consul member is a competitive, volunteer position with set duties. Not all applications will be approved. If approved, duties include responding to citizen inquiries from your region and promoting Gapla within the region’s population and press. Ambassadors or consul members who achieve strong results, such as a local press article or a high level of citizen engagement and community in the region, will be rewarded and promoted. Weak ambassadors or consul members may have their contract terminated.

  • Please do not apply for this position if your primary motivation is to receive an award, honor, or official materials (such as flags). Formal recognition, such as awards or honors from the Prince of the Danubias, is reserved for exceptionally dedicated and active ambassadors or consul members. These awards are granted sparingly and with great consideration. In most cases, official materials for your office must be purchased separately and are not provided by the virtue of being an ambassador, however, in certain cases we will consider a gift of these materials provided that we have evidence that your office has been greatly beneficial to the public relations of Gapla, such as a press article or a high level of citizen engagement and community in the region.
